It is an Anacardiaceae like cashew nuts.
Pink pepper can be known by several Latin names: Schinus Molle, Schinus terebentifolius.
It is from the same family as cashew nuts, better known as “cashew nuts”.
Tree or shrub from tropical countries whose fruits (drupes), coral red in color, 8 mm in diameter, are used under the name “pink pepper” or “pink berries”
Its leaves are evergreen, aromatic, crinkled and can reach 15 cm long.

Originally from South America (Brazil), it is now grown in Reunion Island where its berries are nicknamed "Rose Gold of Reunion Island".
