It is a shrub from northeastern Africa (a region straddling Kenya and Somalia) which has a pale, parchment bark, pink flowers in bouquets.
Its production - rare - comes mainly from a cooperative of farmers in the Ogaden region.
Rivae incense is perhaps the sweetest of all incense resins, some say it looks like candy.
Painstakingly harvested by hand, Boswellia rivae resin takes you on an unforgettable aromatic journey that is ever so pleasing to the senses with its sweet undertones of citrus and fruit aromas.
We are very lucky to be able to offer you this extremely aromatic essential oil freshly harvested because very little is harvested each year.
Resin collectors search daily for the best resin so that it can be produced for our enjoyment and holistic medicinal benefits.
It is used in the region as chewing gum.
