Do not use pure essential oils. Essential oils are diluted in a vegetable oil when applied to the skin. Carry out a skin tolerance test in the crook of your elbow and wait 48 hours before using the oil on the skin. Do not use the essential oil if you notice a reaction such as redness, itching or stinging.

Because of its high concentration of pulegone, The pouliot mint is very repellent against fungi, pests and biting insects.
It is also dissolving mucus and a good general tonic.
On the other hand, it also contains compounds that can be hypertensive, neurotoxic and abortive, with 80% ketones including pulegone.

It is a small plant native to Europe and Asia Minor, aromatic, with toothed oval leaves and whorled mauve flowers 40 cm high.
Dioscorides used it to promote menstruation and work.
The Latin name pulegium (flea) refers to its action against fleas.
The essential oil is also called: pennyroyal oil.
Main components of essential oil
- Pennyroyal oil = more than 80% carbonyl compounds mainly represented by a ketone, pulegone (60 to 80%).
