This Canadian Cornflower hydrosol has mild antiseptic properties and, like its cousin the Blue Centaury from gardens, it soothes irritated eyes, skin and irritated mucous membranes.
Added to a herbal tea or simply cold water, it has refreshing, even digestive and slightly bitter tonic effects.
This organic hydrosol from Canadian Cornflower is obtained from the distillation of flowers by steam.
- Eye baths: 1 teaspoon in a cup of cooled boiled water for eye baths or washes.
- Anti-rheumatic massage ointments.
Cornflower is a small branched annual or biennial herbaceous plant, with frank green leaves, more or less deeply divided depending on whether they are basal or summit, with heads of blue flowers, the fruits are achenes surmounted by red bristles.
The properties of this plant are used in eye lotions, hence its other name "glasses breaker".
