Zadkiel or Hesediel (Hebrew: צדקיאל Tzadqiel) is the Archangel of freedom, benevolence, and compassion.

He is also the patron saint of mercy.

He is also known as Tsadqiel, Sachiel, Zedekiel, Zadakiel, Tzadkiel, Zedekul and Hesediel.

Archangel Zadkiel is linked with the Sephira Hesed, the fourth sphere of the tree of the Sephiroth, it corresponds to divine mercy, to forgiveness.

In rabbinical writings, Zadkiel belongs to the order of the Hashmalim (or the Dominions), and he is considered by some sources to be the head of this order.

Zadkiel can also be seen as an angel of the Hierarchy of Archangels allowing access to the blessings of the sephira Hésed, the other angelic hierarchies (here the Hashmalim-Dominations) being more difficult to access for man.

According to Jewish tradition, it was he who prevented Abraham from killing his son on the altar.
